If your kids are like mine, they are constantly getting bumps and bruises. Every time I have to get out the ice pack/peas or what ever is cold and apply it to their Boo-Boo (Oweee or what ever cute name you call it. Saying a cute name somehow makes the hurt not as bad:). And every time I am scrounging around for a clean dish towel or handy paper towel (which I am always out of so I don't even bother anymore) to cover it with.
So to make a long story short, when I was cutting the quilt squares for my daughter I found that I had a lot of scraps left. I hate clutter and I hate waste even more (and I REALLY REALLY love these fabrics and they weren't cheap)! So I thought why not make an ice pack cover out of scraps!!!
If you have scraps you love but can't bare to part from them then... I have a solution for you! Make ice pack covers for yourself, family and friends out of scraps (or just use your favorite cute fabric)! Each one is unique and filled with love!
All You need is:
- Fabric/Sewn together scraps 2" larger on all sides then ice pack
- Chenille/Terry Cloth 2" larger on all sides then ice pack
- 2-3" Velcro
- Coordinating thread
Repeat on Chenille or terry cloth (you can even use a hand towel or wash rag as a backing)
Step 2: Fold top 1/2" and 1/2" again and sew down (this is your opening). Repeat on chenille/terry cloth.
These are so cute and I am delighted at this idea.

Oh I love this idea! I would love to replace my UG-LY baggie of peas with a pretty cover! Thank you for sharing the great tutorial. You are so clever.
