I love making these Twirly Skirts for my 7 year old daughter. They are cute and exclusive looking and look great with leggings! Here is a new pattern. Instead of making the middle section the same size squares like in Flirty Twirling Skirt, I used scraps that were the same width but varying lengths. Here is a quick pattern. Measure your child's waist for the elastic (remember to add a seam allowance). Take that measurement and increase it 1 and 1/2 times for the length of the waist section. The width remains 6". Then for the 2 middle sections, sew together any length of fabric as long as the width is 5". Sew the first row 1 and 1/2 times the waist length. Then sew the second middle row 1 and 1/2 times the length of the first row. Finally make your bottom ruffle 1 and 1/2 times the length of the second row with a width of 4". With these measurements you can make the perfect size for your child (fits length size of a child size 4-8). If you would like it shorter then take an inch off your middle sections width. To lengthen add an inch!
this is the cutest thing ever!!!!
