Vanilla Butter Cream:
- 3 Cups (or 6 cubes) Salted Butter (room temp or softened)
- 1/4 Cup Milk
- 2 TBS Vanilla Extract
- 3 Lbs Powdered Sugar
Mix all ingredients on low until combined (this avoids a huge mess..on High all the powdered sugar will fly across the room..not pretty...and yes I have done it). Mix on high for about 4 minutes until white and fluffy, making sure to scrape sides to avoid butter lumps.
*This is enough to decorate and frost a double 10" cake. For an 8" cake cut the measurements in half.
Chocolate Butter Cream:
- 3 Cups (6 Cubes) Salted Butter (room temp. or softened)
- 1/3 Cup Milk
- 3 TBS Vanilla
- 3 Lbs Powdered Sugar
- 1 C Coco Powder (add 1/2C -1 C more for a dark chocolate flavor, slight addition of milk may be needed)
Mix the same as Vanilla Butter Cream.
This may sound dumb, but what is a cube of butter?
ReplyDeleteA one pound butter is usually broken up into 4 cubes/sticks (1/2 C = 1 cube/stick)
