Heart Shaped Yo-yo's

How to Make Heart Shaped Yo-yo's:Heart Yo-yo's are just as easy and fun to make as circular yo-yo's. You can use them as hair accessories, on cards, pins for clothing and accessories, or sew them/glue them on to any project!!!
What You'll Need:
Fabric
paper
scissors
needle
co-ordinating thread
trim (buttons, beads etc)
Step 1: Fold a piece of paper in half width wise. I used regular 8 1/2" by 11" printer paper because it was handy.
Draw half of a heart. The width and length of my heart was about 4" from it's widest and 4" from it's tallest part.
Step 2:
Cut it out. Voila! Now you have your very own perfect heart pattern.Step 3: Pin it to your fabricAnd cut out :) Step 4: Make a knot in your thread.
Hand press as you go, about 1/4" of fabric with wrong sides touching (pictured below) and then use a running stitch all the way around your heart.Gather fabric as you go by gently pulling on thread and fabric in opposite directions.
Step 5: Turn right side out and tighten gathering until center hole is small. I like to go back through the gathered fabric and tighten even further so that the hole is as small as possible without braking my thread. Then make a knot, securing your ruffled fabric in place. Step 6: With your thumb on the center hole and your fingers on the back of your yo-yo, push/slide your center hole until it is at the top.
Fluff out until you get your desired shape.Add a button or bead if desired. To make it a hair accessory glue or sew it on to a bobby pin or clip!

Have Fun,
Be creative,
Look Fantastic!
It's Your Time To Shine!!!
